The design of many venues means that a Central Display for Surtitles, or two Caption Units either side of the stage, may not be visible from all seats in the auditorium. It is now possible to add Wide-Aspect Ratio LCD Displays in these areas so that the whole of the audience can enjoy the benefits of text supported performances.
Using Wide Aspect Ration LCD Displays reflects the aspect ratio of how both Theatre Captions and Opera Surtitles are formatted – basically a “letter-box” shape – and means that the whole of the screen is utilised for text rather than just the third of the screen area used on a standard panel. They can be installed simply and discretely in almost any position.
Wide Aspect Ratio LCD panels are available in a range of screen sizes and can also be an excellent and cost-effective solution for Captioning in smaller venues where a standard Caption Unit may be too large.
