Digital 4 has over 30 years industry experience in systems and product development in LED displays and software applications that reflect our passion for Digital Technology, Theatre, Opera, Access and the Arts.
Roger Graham, Director of Digital 4, began his professional life as a young actor at The Royal Court and went on to work as a director and writer working in Community Theatre and Small Scale Touring.
A career change led to a career in Digital Display Technology – yes, yet another actor who gave up trying to make a living!
Firstly he worked in sales and product development for Esprit Communications and later as General Sales Manager and Head of Product Development at Jayex Technology for whom he was part of the team that introduced D.D.A. compliant Patient Call Systems for the D/Deaf Community. He then went on to win the tender to supply 50 new Caption Units and Captioning Software for the Stagetext See-A-Voice project in 2009.
Seeing an opportunity to combine his passion for Theatre, Digital Technology and Access, Roger formed Digital 4 Ltd.
We are now the market leader in systems that deliver prepared or live text support for audiences – Theatre Captioning, Opera Surtitling, Theatre Sub-Titling as well as applications and interfaces for Live Speech-to-Text.
For over 10 years we have continued to work with Stagetext, the UK captioning charity, developing hardware and software for Theatre Captioning to improve access in theatres and at Live Events for the 12 million people in the UK with a hearing loss – so far more than 150 caption units have been supplied.
Roger is still involved in Theatre having directed over 30 productions for Questors Theatre in Ealing and The Tower Theatre and Sedos in London.
